Vol. 265 No. 14

Written Answers. - Housing Grants.

201.

asked the Minister for Local Government when the second half of a new house grant will be paid to a person (name supplied) in Kells, County Meath.

The final instalment of £50 was paid on 25th May, 1973.

202.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the delay in the payment of a new house grant to a person (name supplied) of Enfield, County Meath; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I accept that there was delay in dealing with this case.

I have, however, taken special measures to reduce the arrears in the areas where they were especially high and an instalment of £250 was paid on 24th May, 1973, and the balance of £50 will be paid as soon as some outstanding work is completed.

203.

asked the Minister for Local Government when a new house development grant will be paid to a person (name supplied) in County Cork.

A grant of £325 was allocated in this case on 3rd January, 1973, and an instalment of £170 was paid on 26th January. The house was inspected on 5th March but was not then completed. Arrangements will now be made for a further inspection with a view to payment of the balance, if in order.
