asked the Minister for Finance if the Government accepts the EEC recommendation to abolish the facility of duty-free goods for persons travelling between the various States.

The EEC Commission's proposals in this matter are to have the duty-free sales concerned abolished by 1st January, 1976. The proposals in question are still under discussion and firm views on a terminal date have yet to be formulated.
