As I indicated to the Deputy in replying to two questions on the 10th May, the whole area of scientific and technological policy, including policy for scientific and technical information, is at present under review. A decision to set up a statutory body for science and technology is at present in course of implementation. The OECD reviews of our policy for science and technology generally and scientific and technical information in particular will be completed shortly and the way will then be cleared for definitive decisions. The examination which is currently in train covers the areas referred to by the Deputy.
