The latest edition of the Quarterly Bulletin of Housing Statistics, published by my Department, shows that in the quarter ended 31st December, 1972, the average gross price of new houses in the Republic for which loans were approved by building societies, assurance companies and local authorities was £6,605. Corresponding information on the average price of new houses in Northern Ireland is not available.
