Vol. 266 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tourism Earnings.

6.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power the latest figure for the anticipated earnings from tourism for 1973; and how it compares with the actual earnings for 1972.

The official annual estimates for visits and revenue from tourist traffic are prepared by the Central Statistics Office who have not yet finalised the figures for 1972. However, Bord Failte estimate that receipts from tourism during 1972 amounted to £90.7 million. It is too early yet to predict with any degree of certainty the likely earnings from tourism during 1973.
