asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the water supply schemes for County Dublin awaiting sanction in his Department indicating (a) the area (b) the estimated cost (c) the date submitted for sanction and (d) the proposed date of sanction.

Three water supply schemes for Dublin County Council are awaiting sanction in the Department at present. These are :

Balscadden Sub Area Water Supply Scheme

The extreme northern portion of Dublin County centred on Balscadden village and bounded on the south by a line from Naul to Knock Cross

Proposals for this direct labour scheme have been the subject of discussions between the Departments Inspector and the County Engineer, arising from which a decision will shortly issue to the local authority on the scheme.

Extension of the North County Dublin Regional Water Supply Scheme to Pickarstown to serve 11 houses.

Formal approval is issuing, but the scheme has proceeded in the meantime in anticipation of that approval.

Watermain Extension to serve 9 houses.
