Vol. 266 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Traffic Warden.

43.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware that Cork County Council are awaiting sanction from the Garda authorities for the appointment of a school traffic warden at Carrigtwohill; and if he will expedite the matter.

(Cavan): No application has been received by the Garda Commissioner from Cork County Council for his consent to the appointment of a school warden at Carrigtwohill.

We were informed at a meeting of the Cork County Council last week that an application had been made.

(Cavan): Perhaps the Deputy is a little premature with his question. I understand this matter was raised in the Cork County Council as recently as 18th June. I understand also that it takes a little time for the request to reach the commissioner.

I was not at all premature. This matter has arisen in the last three years.

The Chair is anxious to assist Deputy Ahern in getting information but this is not the method or the manner. I am calling Question No. 44.
