Vol. 267 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Housing Repair Grants.

2.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the amount allocated to Kerry County Council for essential repair grants in the year ended 31st March, 1973; the amount spent by the council during that year; the council's target for 1973-74; and the number of houses being repaired at present under the scheme.

There was no allocation from my Department to Kerry County Council for essential repair supplementary grants in the year ended 31st March, 1973. These grants are financed from revenue and the amounts allocated and spent by the council in that year were £18,000 and £16,006 respectively. £28,000 has been allocated for 1973-74 and the council expect to carry out 78 repair cases. The actual number of houses being repaired at the moment is not available but it is probably in the region of eight or nine houses.
