asked the Minister for Local Government the number of vehicles in Ireland in 1972 in the following categories: cars, taxis, motor cycles, buses and coaches, goods vehicles and unclassified vehicles; and if he will give each figure as a percentage of the total.

The information requested is in the form of a tabular statement which, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, will be circulated with the Official Report.
