As I stated in my reply to Parliamentary question No. 26 of the 19th June last, I have asked the building societies to consider drawing up an agreed code of practice governing their activities. Requirements involving the taking out of insurance by borrowers are matters which I would visualise as falling within the scope of the code of practice.
