Figures published by the Central Bank in its quarterly bulletin for spring, 1973 show that the aggregate value of shares and deposits with building societies at the 30th June, 1972, amounted to £121.9 million approximately, of which deposits accounted for £20.5 million.
The corresponding figure for 31st March, 1973, the latest date for which figures have been published was £147 million, of which deposits accounted for £23.5 million.
