Vol. 267 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pollution Control.

15.

asked the Minister for Lands the features of the environment in the context of pollution control which are dealt with in his Department.

My Department has no statutory control in the sphere of environmental pollution. However, it would naturally be concerned about the effects of air and water pollution from the standpoint of forestry development and wildlife conservation. In this context liaison is maintained with the Department of Local Government —where the main responsibility for pollution control at central level rests —and with An Foras Forbartha.
