asked the Minister for Transport and Power if he has any plans to encourage the purchase of mobile power stations to deal with emergencies or in the event of natural catastrophies.

No. A considerable measure of security is provided by the number of generating stations in the ESB system and their wide dispersion throughout the country. In addition, standby electricity generators are maintained by organisations providing essential services, such as the Department of Defence, larger hospitals, airports, et cetera.
