Vol. 267 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers (Resumed). - Cork Industries.

84.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the number of new jobs that he expects will be created by new industry in Cork city and county over the next 18 months.

I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that projects approved for grants in Cork city and county which have recently commenced production or are under construction have an employment potential of about 900. It is expected that approximately 600 of these jobs should be provided within the next 18 months.

Other projects approved by the IDA for County Cork have an additional job potential of 1,600. It is not possible at this stage to say when these jobs will be available.
