Vol. 268 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sound Machine.

29.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he has made representations to the British Government following reports of the proposed use of the inhuman sound weapon in the Six Counties; if not, if he will consider doing so immediately; and if he will also make representations to the International Red Cross Organisation.

It is presumed that the Deputy is referring to recent reports of the existence of a machine said to produce both very high frequency, and very low frequency sound in the ears of those within its range. The British authorities have been asked whether there is any intention on their part to use such a device. They have indicated that they do not possess a device such as described in those reports and moreover are not aware of the existence of any such device.
