Vol. 268 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Park Planning and Management.

43.

asked the Minister for Finance if the Government have any plans for the exchange with other countries of information on national park legislation, planning and management techniques as well as on possible training programmes in these subjects and programmes to assess the total economic value of wild life resources.

Mr. Kenny

It is the practice of the National Parks and Monuments Branch of the Office of Public Works to exchange information with park authorities in other countries by direct communication and by attendance at international conferences, meetings, seminars, etc. This practice is proving of benefit in the formulation of policy for the planning and management of parks and their natural resources and will be continued.
