Vol. 268 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Brucellosis Eradication Scheme.

2.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he will increase the present payments of £30 for the removal of reactors and £20 when milk ring free status is reached under the Brucellosis Eradication Scheme.

I have at present under consideration representations made to me in this matter.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary give the House an idea of when this consideration will be completed and when a decision will be taken on this matter?

To use an old parliamentary phrase, the matter is under active consideration at the present time. Discussions are taking place between the Departments of Finance and Agriculture with a view to making adjustments in the headage grants.

I did not think the Parliamentary Secretary would use an old parliamentary phrase. I thought we had this new image.

The Deputy should remember that this is Question Time.
