Vol. 269 No. 13

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 3 and 4, Vote 3 resumed. It is also proposed, by agreement, that the final Opposition speaker on the debate on the Taoiseach's Estimate will be called on not later than 3.15 p.m. and the spokesman for the Government not later than 4.15 p.m. The House, when rising today, will adjourn until Wednesday, 6th February, 1974.

Do I gather from the Tánaiste that the vote will be no later than 5 p.m.

Approximately 5 p.m.

The situation is that the Government spokesman is getting in at 4.15 p.m. but will this mean that he will not go on any longer than 5 p.m.?

Yes. The vote could be before that. The Deputy had better have the members of his party in early.

The statement of the Tánaiste is open-ended from that point of view.

It is not, really.

There was no agreement about finishing at 5 p.m.

The Deputy has a point there. It is 5 o'clock that we are presuming is the time when the House will rise. Is that all right?
