Vol. 270 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Security Firms.

144.

asked the Minister for Justice the requirements necessary for the setting up of security firms; and the number of such firms operating in Ireland at present.

Other than the requirements of the Business Names Act, 1963, and of the Companies Act, 1963, there are no statutory requirements for the setting up of security firms.

The question of the introduction of a system of control of firms or persons offering security services is, however, under consideration in my Department.

I am unable to state the number of such firms operating in the State at present.
