Vol. 270 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Salt Shortage.

12.

Mr. Kitt

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware of an acute shortage of common salt, especially in rural Ireland; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

From inquiries I have made it appears that the shortage referred to by the Deputy has been caused by a combination of circumstances, mainly related to shipping. My information is that supplies should be back to normal in a week or two.
