Vol. 270 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dún Laoghaire School.

51.

asked the Minister for Education if a grant towards the cost of a new building for a school in the Dún Laoghairle area, County Dublin (details supplied) will be given.

Mr. R. Burke

It has been represented to my Department that there is need for a new school in the area in replacement of certain existing schools and the matter is receiving attention. It will be necessary to have it established to my satisfaction that the available secondary school accommodation in the area is not adequate to the needs of the situation before sanction may be given for a grant towards the cost of the erection of a new school building. I am not at present in a position to make a final statement in the matter.
