Vol. 270 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Genetic Register.

41.

asked the Minister for Health if he will consider the establishment of an Irish Genetic Register.

A considerable amount of information on the incidence of congenital abnormality among children is being collected in this country. This information is collected both as a result of regular child health clinics and from special studies relating to specific types of conditions. I do not at the present time contemplate the establishment of a national genetic register.
