Vol. 271 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tallaght (Dublin) Garda Station.

19.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware of the unsatisfactory conditions prevailing at Tallaght Garda station, Dublin due to lack of accommodation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

20.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware of the unsatisfactory arrangements resulting from lack of accommodation at Tallaght Garda station, Dublin for the certification of unemployment forms; and if he will consider providing a prefabricated building for this purpose.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Question Nos. 19 and 20 together.

I have already taken up with the Commissioners of Public Works the question of providing improved accommodation for the gardaí at Tallaght. It is intended to erect a new station at Tallaght, but the project has to be co-ordinated with the overall planning for the new town there, which I understand has not yet been finalised. In the meantime the Office of Public Works are examining the possibility of providing additional facilities at the existing station.
