Vol. 272 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Meath Roads.

34.

asked the Minister for Local Government when he will confirm the reclassification of roads in County Meath which has been agreed upon with Meath County Council.

County councils were invited by circular letter of 28th August, 1973, to furnish their observations on proposals to reclassify certain roads as regional roads. My Department are at present examining the views and recommendations received in response to that circular, including those of the Meath County Council, but it will be some time before I will be in a position to announce a final selection of regional roads. As the network will be interdependent as between counties and regions it would be impracticable for me to indicate the position in any particular county until the entire network has been finally determined.
