The special study being carried out by the research unit attached to University College, Cork, of the effect of fluoridated water on children's teeth is of a long-term character and will take about ten years to complete. Consequently, I do not expect the research unit to be in a position to furnish a final report on the results of this study for some years yet. Meanwhile my Department are receiving interim reports on the work being done by the research unit.
