Vol. 272 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Planning Appeals.

20.

asked the Minister for Local Government if, in respect of planning appeals to him against decisions of Dublin Corporation and adjudicated upon by him during the period 8th April to 12th April 1974, he will state the percentage of cases in which he reversed the decision of the corporation.

The answer is 50 per cent.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary accept that in details which have been given to members of the Commission the percentage is much higher?

Yes, for the given period from the 8th April to 12th April, 1974, the total number of planning appeals against decisions of Dublin Corporation determined in those five days was two.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary then consider getting in touch with Dublin Corporation tion because they are presenting a picture to commissioners which is not in accordance with the information he gives me here? They have a total of 20 I think and the Minister reversed their decisions in 18. Do not ask me why I asked the question.
