Vol. 273 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Purchase Applications.

37.

asked the Minister for Finance the number of applications sanctioned for the purchase of land by the Agricultural Credit Corporation since 1st April, 1974; and the amount of money involved.

The number of applications for loans for the purchase of land sanctioned by the Agricultural Credit Corporation in the period 1st April to 28th May is 148, for a total sum of £1,425,500.

Will the Minister state the number of applicants who did not have any investment with the ACC and those who had an investment?

I have not that information.

That is a separate question.

People have shown me refusals from the ACC for loans to purchase land. I have referred one case to the Minister and have asked him to use his good offices in the matter.

If the Deputy brings to my attention any specific case, I shall inquire from the ACC about the matter. I would point out that in two months the ACC have given more money for land purchase than was given out in six months during the previous régime.
