Work is well advanced with the drafting of the new building regulations. While I cannot give a firm date for completion, I am hopeful that a draft will be available for comment by interested bodies by the end of this year.
Could the Minister give any explanation of the reason for the long delay in finalising this question of new building regulations?
I can say that over the last 18 months we have been doing our best to try to get them but I would like to know what Deputy Molloy was doing from October 1969 when the Report was first sent in to him.
