On 24th October, 1973, in reply to a question by the Deputy, I explained that my Department is concerned with the environment in practically all aspects of its activities and that the Department as an entity gives due consideration to environmental factors. In the circumstances the need for assigning an officer with particular responsibility for environmental matters does not arise.
