Vol. 275 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Director of Public Prosecutions.

4.

asked the Taoiseach when is it intended to appoint a Director of Public Prosecutions; and when is it envisaged that the person so appointed will assume office.

On the 25th September, 1974, I requested the committee established under section 2 (7) of the Prosecution of Offences Act, 1974, to select candidates for appointment to the office of Director of Public Prosecutions. The untimely and deeply regretted death of the Chief Justice, who was a member of the committee, has, however, delayed the matter.
