Vol. 276 No. 5

Written Answers. - Department of Defence Civilian Employees.

213.

asked the Minister for Defence the weekly pay increase applicable to non-craftsmen civilian employees in the Department of Defence on the operative dates mentioned in the reply to Question No. 226 of 14th November, 1974; and the notional figure applicable in each case which determines the substitution amount.

It is assumed that the information sought regarding "the notional figure applicable in each case which determines the substitution amount" refers to the notional basic pay on which the first phase increase under the Employer-Trade Union National Agreement, 1974 is calculated in cases where, in accordance with Clause 3 (f) of that Agreement, the first phase increase was substituted for the second phase of the 1972 National Agreement. The information sought by the Deputy has been compiled on this assumption and is shown in the table beneath. In cases where substitution was not applicable, i.e. where the second phase of the 1972 National Agreement was applied prior to 1st April 1974, this is indicated in the table.
