Vol. 276 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - National Concert Hall.

115.

asked the Minister for Finance the present position regarding the proposals to erect a national concert hall.

The programme for the conversion of the Great Hall at Earlsfort Terrace for use as a public concert hall is being prepared.

When will we get an indication of these proposals?

Substantial plans have already been published. The detailed plans are now being examined and we can expect work to begin as soon as the buildings are vacated.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I wish to raise on the Adjournment the subject matter of Question No. 25 on the Order Paper.

The Deputy is late at this stage. He will have to raise the matter on the next sitting day.

Would the House agree that the Minister for Finance should complete his questions?

We have already gone on for an additional hour.

We will be going into recess next week. There will be only two sitting days. There will be questions unanswered for weeks and weeks.

The Chair is in your hands.

We propose that he should do so if the Government side agree.

I have no objection. I would be happy. I will be in Brussels next week.

In that case I call Question No. 116.
