Vol. 276 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Hill Fencing Grant.

33.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he will reconsider the case of a person (name supplied) in respect of the payment of a hill fencing grant in view of the fact that commonage owners co-operated in fencing an area for sheep grazing and Donegal County Council facilitated them by the provision of Australian gates on county roads through the commonage.

An application was received from the person named by the Deputy and eight other persons for grant aid towards a fence which they had erected in a line across mountain type lands. As the line of fence did not enclose an area of land with a stock-proof fence it does not qualify for grant aid under my Department's fencing scheme for mountain grazings.
