Vol. 276 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Purchase Payment.

52.

asked the Minister for Lands the reasons for the delays in making payment for land where acquisition agreements have been finalised over the past two years.

(Cavan): I am not aware of any undue delays which could be attributed to the Land Commission in the matter of payment for lands purchased or acquired by them.

In the case of lands purchased for cash, the purchase money or outstanding balance is paid over on the day possession of the lands is given to the Land Commission.

Where the purchase money is payable in land bonds, the length of time between the taking of possession and the distribution of the bonds depends on how soon evidence of title is lodged on behalf of the owner and the examiner's title rulings are discharged.
