Vol. 276 No. 13

Vote 24 (Excess Vote): Land Registry and Registry of Deeds.

I move:

That a sum not exceeding £7,664 be granted to make good an Excess on the Grant for Land Registry and Registry of Deeds for the year ended on the 31st day of March, 1972.

Vote put and agreed to.

A Leas-Ceann Comhairle, might I return to the Higher Education Estimate for a moment and reply briefly to a question asked by Mr. Colley?

An Leas-Ceann Comhairle

The Minister will appreciate that the House is anxious to get through these Estimates.

Mr. R. Burke

The Deputy asked a very reasonable question about why the figure for capital expenditure from Vote No. 33 remained virtually unchanged. This is because under my predecessor in 1971 an arrangement was made by which the HEA would receive approximately £2½ million per annum for a period of six years.
