Vol. 277 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Roscommon Vocational School.

78.

asked the Minister for Education when he intends to conclude the proceedings relative to Ballaghaderreen vocational school, County Roscommon.

The local inquiry conducted in the case to which the Deputy refers has concluded. The action to be taken as a result of the inquiry will be determined as soon as possible.

Did the Parliamentary Secretary say that the action would be decided as soon as possible?

Deputy Flanagan asked when the Minister intends to conclude the proceedings.

The inquiry was carried out by an officer of the Department and the matter is rather complex. I understand that the Department's officer has not yet submitted a written report of the proceedings. This is understandable in view of the complexity of the issue involved, but as soon as the written report is received the Department will act on it as quickly as possible.

Is the complexity a legal one?

I am sure the Deputy appreciates that I would prefer not to go into that.
