Vol. 279 No. 5

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

96.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will make arrangements to have a telephone installed for a person (name supplied) in County Cork for which application was made in 1973.

It is not possible at present to arrange installation of a telephone for the person named by the Deputy as provision of service requires abnormal linework between the applicant's premises and the nearest common cable route. There are some 1,500 other applications in the Cork area similarily deferred because of the abnormal linework involved. It is hoped to start clearing them in the latter part of this year but it is likely to be the second half of 1976 before the application in question can be met.
