Vol. 279 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Property Transfer Deeds.

20.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state when the deeds in the case of a person (name supplied) in County Meath will be stamped, as the transfer of the property in question took place on 3rd April, 1974 and the delay in stamping is holding up payment of an old age pension; and the reason for the delay in dealing with this case.

Mr. Kenny

I understand from the Revenue Commissioners that the delay in stamping the deed in this case arose from disagreement as to the realistic value of the lands being transferred. In accordance with normal practice, the deed was lodged for adjudication and referred to the Valuation Office for a report. Regrettably, the papers appear to have been temporarily mislaid in that office. The papers have since been located and the stamp duty assessment has now been issued on an agreed valuation.

Thank you very much.
