Vol. 279 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Postmen's Overtime Rates.

5.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs why postmen who work overtime at periods such as Christmas are not paid overtime rates.

Necessary overtime performed by postmen at any time, including the Christmas period, is paid for at the appropriate overtime rates. A postman who is dissatisfied with his payment for overtime may of course raise the matter personally through the normal official procedures or may have the recognised union raise it on his behalf.
