Vol. 280 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - IDA Representation.

5.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he has any proposals to ensure trade union representation on the Industrial Development Authority.

The Industrial Development Act, 1969, limits the number of members on the authority to nine. There are at present no vacancies. However, when a vacancy does occur the question of such representation will be borne in mind.

(Dublin Central): Will the Minister state if there is a representative of the FUE on the IDA?

That is a separate question.

(Dublin Central): I wondered if the balance was right.

Formal representation is not the basis of selection for the authority.
