asked the Minister for Justice the number of members serving on the juvenile liaison officer scheme from 1969 to 1st May, 1975; and the total numbers of persons appointed under the scheme in Cork, Limerick, Galway and Dublin cities and in each other area where officers were appointed.

(Cavan): With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to circulate in the Official Report a statement giving the number of juvenile liaison officer posts in each centre at present. Since 1st January, 1969, the only changes that have occurred in their number, apart from temporary vacancies, are the assignment, in November, 1973, of a further two gardaí in Dublin and one further garda in Cork to juvenile liaison duty.

As I stated in a reply of 12th February, an analytical study of this scheme, which has been carried out by a systems analyst, is at present under examination.
