Vol. 281 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin CPO.

22.

asked the Minister for Local Government when a decision can be expected on the inquiry held on the CPO for the City Quay area, Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I will give my decision on this matter as soon as possible.

As this area has been selected by the corporation for an architectural competition, I would request the Minister to make a decision as soon as possible so that this competition can get under way and that we can have first-class development in this area.

I quite agree it is something that needs urgent attention, but there were 29 objections to the order and a public inquiry was held on the 25th, 26th and 27th February. The file with the transcript of evidence was received only on the 6th of May, 1975. The inspector who held the inquiry is at present working on the report and I have asked that this report be sent to me as soon as possible.
