Vol. 282 No. 4

Written Answers. - Clare Medical Card Applicant.

296.

asked the Minister for Health why a person in County Clare (name supplied) has been refused a medical card, in view of the fact that she is a chronic invalid and in need of constant medication.

This person was refused a medical card by the chief executive officer, whose function it is to determine such an application, on the grounds that her husband's income was considerably in excess of the guidelines. She was invited, however, to avail herself of the scheme for assistance towards the cost of drugs and medicines.
