Vol. 282 No. 4

Written Answers. - County Cork Unemployment Benefit.

297.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if his Department have investigated the claim for unemployment benefit or assistance made by a person in County Cork (name supplied); and if he will now arrange for payment to this applicant.

As was indicated in a previous reply, the entitlement to benefit of the person concerned on his claim for unemployment benefit of 23rd January, 1975, depended, among other things, on the question whether certain contributions paid in respect of him during the 1973 insurance year were paid in respect of employment which is insurable under the Social Welfare Acts. Inquiries have been completed and a deciding officer has decided that those contributions have been so paid. The claimant is, therefore, entitled to unemployment benefit on his claim and all benefit due will be paid during the current week.
