Vol. 282 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Medical Cards.

7.

asked the Minister for Health why several people in Ballyfermot/Inchicore and Crumlin areas of Dublin, who have been put on a three-day week, have been refused medical cards.

The decision on whether or not a medical card should be issued to any applicant is a matter for the chief executive officer of the health board. The fact that a person is at a particular time working limited hours would not of itself give entitlement to a medical card as his income might continue to be higher than that which would justify the issue of a medical card.
