Vol. 282 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Clonmel Welfare Home.

6.

asked the Minister for Health if he will meet a deputation from the Welfare Home Committee, Clonmel, County Tipperary, to discuss the siting of the proposed home.

As the Deputy is aware I made a very full statement about this matter in the course of my reply to a question by him on the 22nd May. On that occasion I indicated that I had received deputations from the health board and the Sisters of Charity about the siting of the welfare home. In addition officers of my Department attended a public meeting in Clonmel some time ago at which the siting of the home was thoroughly discussed. In those circumstances I do not feel that any useful purpose would be served by meeting a deputation from the Welfare Home Committee.
