The site will be used to provide a new headquarters for the meteorological service of the Department of Transport and Power, the planning of which is at an advanced stage.
That is good news but can the Parliamentary Secretary indicate when planning will be completed?

A scheme has been prepared and agreed with the planning authority. Documents for the work are being prepared and it is expected that tenders will be invited this autumn. The building will take approximately two years to complete so that the scheme must be ready when tenders are being invited.
