Vol. 284 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Voluntary Hospital Patients.

3.

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware of discrimination in some voluntary hospitals against patients entitled to treatment under general medical services and of the delays that occur in obtaining beds; and the steps he is taking to remedy the matter.

I am not so aware. All the information I have goes to indicate that no discrimination takes place whether as regards admission to voluntary hospitals or to delays in obtaining beds there.

If the Deputy is aware of any cases where such discrimination is alleged I would be grateful if he would bring the facts to my notice for investigation.
