Vol. 284 No. 5

Written Answers. - TVO Fuel.

78.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power the prospect for future supplies of TVO fuel oil.

I would refer the Deputies to my reply to questions on supplies of TVO on 25th June, 1974, when I stated that I was informed that sales of TVO were being concentrated in one oil company and that I was assured by that company that they had adequate supplies of TVO available to meet all demands. The company have again assured me that they have adequate supplies to meet present demand.

I am informed that the demand for TVO in this country is declining steadily and that supplies are obtainable only from a refinery in Britain where the demand is also very limited. In the circumstances, the continuance of supplies in the long term must be regarded as problematical but I am assured by the company concerned that adequate notice will be given of any decision to discontinue supplies.
