asked the Minister for Local Government if, in view of the £10 per vehicle a day road tax imposed on Irish hauliers in certain continental countries, he will consider imposing a suitable reciprocal tax in this country.

This issue is the subject of negotiations by the Department of Transport and Power on bilateral agreements on road transport with various continental countries, which are proceeding or are about to be commenced.
